Overview
The Green Growth AgriHack Uganda 2024 is set to bring together innovators, developers, and industry leaders to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing the agricultural sector today. This 48-hour hackathon aims to create sustainable and scalable digital solutions that will foster a more eco-friendly agricultural landscape while promoting food security and resilience against climate change. This year's event is proudly supported by Brahmam, in collaboration with the National Institute of Industrial Health (NIIH).
Agenda
Participants will work in teams to address challenges in five key areas:
- Market Stability and Access
- Climate Resilience and Environmental Adaptation
- Farmer Education and Financial Inclusion
- Disease Management and Risk Mitigation
- Extension, Youth Appeal, Skilling, and Sustainable Business
Throughout the event, participants will receive expert mentorship and guidance, culminating in a pitch session where teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges. The best teams will earn a place in the accelerator program to further develop their ideas and innovations.
Challenges
The hackathon will focus on solving real-world problems such as improving access to markets, boosting climate resilience, and enhancing sustainable agricultural practices. Participants will leverage technology and innovation to create digital tools that improve agricultural productivity while being mindful of environmental sustainability. The top solutions will directly contribute to tackling critical global challenges like food insecurity and the negative effects of climate change.

Green Growth AgriHack Uganda 2024 draws inspiration from successful initiatives like Garage48's “Tech for Agriculture 2018,” with a mission to push the boundaries of sustainable farming practices through technology. Brahmam's collaboration with NIIH ensures top-notch expertise and mentorship, offering participants a unique opportunity to turn their ideas into impactful innovations.
