In a powerful step toward advancing global health resilience, Brahmam Innovations (USA) and Logel Science Foundation (Uganda) have joined forces to launch a major initiative focused on disease prevention and outbreak management in disaster-impacted communities across Uganda.
Logel Science Foundation, a registered nonprofit recognized by Uganda's NGO Board under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is a leader in community-focused research and innovation. The foundation's mission closely aligns with that of Brahmam Innovations, a U.S.-based organization dedicated to developing next-generation technological solutions that tackle critical humanitarian and sustainable development challenges.
This strategic collaboration is centered on building a comprehensive technology-driven disaster response platform designed to support real-time tracking, monitoring, and reporting of health conditions, supply needs, and disease outbreaks before, during, and after natural disasters such as floods and droughts.
The pilot phase, currently underway in Uganda's Wakiso District, involves community engagement, surveys, and data collection to inform the design of locally relevant solutions. Key program components include:
- Development of digital tools for early disease detection and intervention
- Educational and awareness campaigns on public health
- Community capacity building for health resilience
- Real-time reporting systems to support aid coordination and response planning
“This partnership aims to equip communities with the tools and knowledge to manage disaster-related health risks proactively,” said Sampathkumar Veeraraghavan, Founder and President of Brahmam Innovations.
This initiative marks a critical step in empowering vulnerable communities through innovation, advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and creating scalable solutions that can be replicated across the Global South.
